The Legend Of Sri Rama

Rama , not just a name ,an emotion , the 7th incarnation  of Sree Vishnu, the sustainer of this world . More often than not he is looked down upon for various reasons but most often he is forgotten for what he stood for, the freedom he had within , he was lord unto himself but why is it that he is remembered just to kill Ravana? What makes him god-like? Why is he reverred in this culture ? This blog follows up with the same. Dashrata, father of Ramachandra , had a kingdom established with riches and glory, he had Political advisors of competence and sages like Vasishta as the guides of ritualistic practices but the void in his life was that of a progeny for which he decided to carry out a yagna which blessed him with 'SONS', of which Rama ,was the eldest. Due to some Political issue and a spill of viciousness in the heart of Kaikey (the second wife of Dashrath),Rama is forced to choose exile for a period of 14 years, though Rama chose to remain in the exile all by himself, his brother and his loving wife ,who was no ordinary woman but a princess of highest order, now the wife of the rightful heir of the kingdom of Ayodhya chose to escort him in his tumultuous period, but something more was in store of life. Most people who've thought of surviving in forests have only seen forests in picturesque dimnesion , it's a task of courage when each night ,threat to life hovered their head it was no ordinary task. In the quest of lust and passion , Surpanakha , the sister of Ravana ,chooses to allure Rama to be her consort and plays all her tricks with him. Being a loyal husband he convinced Surpanakha in a humourous way to look for Lakshmana, who was equally handsome and alluring , being temperamental and not being able to withstand the nasty acts of the demoness , Lakshamana slays her nose. Hurt and distressed Surpanakha expresses grief to her brother ,enraged Ravana, choses to avenge his sister's insult and curious by the beauty of the lady ,due to whom a prince rejected the sister of the most powerful King ,who frightened the deities, Ravana plots a plan to kidnap Sita and succeeds in the same. Lost in thoughts of how to get her wife back safely Rama with his brother take on to the quest of getting her back from the walls of Lanka. Meanwhile Rama gets along with Sugreeva who exuberantly offered to help him in getting his consort back , because Rama had helped him in getting on to the thrown of his Kingdom. At a point in time when there was no GPS , no surity of his wife's condition , the man walks all the way to Lanka on feet to get back his wife. On the journey he faces many encounters which would cause anyone to crack up. Rama reached Lanka to wage a war with the demon king to get back his captivated wife. Rama dominated the war and slayed the demon king. Let alone getting his wife back ,Rama pays penance , to which Lakshamana questions why does he wish to pay penance to which Rama replies that although he, Ravana, had 10 heads ,  9 of which were of vices one head was that of a devotee ,he slayed that too ,for which he had to pay the penance .After an year of penance they return to their kingdom ,celebrations could be seen everywhere but again due to some political issue he is separated from his wife for whom he struggled all the way , but the man remained equanimous because he had to maintain his subjects. As years passed by the man is aware that while he left his wife his  progeny was in her womb ,for a king the progeny is the most essential consideration for they are to look after the kingdom and the subjects, but the man remains unaware of the the birth of his sons-Luva-Kusha. If something terrible could happen in someone's life ,it is to wage a war against one's own kids and almost end up killing them but Ramachandra was an exception for he had to experience it. Now the question arises that he is a god and someone who is a god should be successful but this is a gigantic and complete failure then why do we rever him? For despite all the terrible things that happened to him he remain UNTOUCHED and EQUANIMOUS. If one of these things happen to anyone today the next thought they have is to end their life but he remain untouched , we bow down to him for the freedom he has within for he went to hell and back but never did he turn resentful, hateful or bitter it is this freedom from within that makes us bow to him . For we have no choice to what life throws at us but we have 100% choice over what we make out of it. Sri Rama is an ideal ,practical example of this . Glories to Sree Rama.

Battle of Rakshasbhuvan

It was evening, after planning the strategy for the following day , Raghunath rao stepped out of Peshwa Madhavrao's tent when ,suddenly like a flash right in front of Raghunathrao, before he could realise what had happened ,an armed man stood in front of him. The sharp blade of his sword glistened in the twilight. Before he managed to escape his blade managed to slice through his shoulder. He was taken to his tent where was examined by the Royal physician. The wound was not too dee, medicine was applied and it was dressed. The next morning, clouds had gathered in the sky. The base camp was idle. Suddenly conches started blaring.  Recognising the summons, the soldiers started getting ready as fast as they could. In the next few hours Peshwa's troops charged towards the Jhadav camp, Jhadav's camp was utterly taken back by this sudden attack. Shrimant Madhavrao was sitting in Raghunath's camp when Jhadav was brought in captive. Raghunathrao expressed his discontentment upon...

THE ROAR UNHEARD : CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI BHONSLE ( PART -1)

How often do we come across men of grit and character? How often do we flip the annals of history and come across rulers who could be bestowed with the responsibility of the country? At a point in time when dark clouds of Islamic forces hailed supreme and persecution was at its peak, a cry in the Maharashtrian district of Shivneri, crackled as though it was chosen to rattle the Islamic forces and liberate the land, the  man who fought for the culture and established a Hindu Empire, the pride of Marathas- Chhatrapati Shivaji, not known to many as Shivaji Bhonsle. As mercenaries, the Bhonsles settled in districts of Maharashtra owing their sword and allegiance to the Muslim rulers who ruled there. Much of the Deccan was annexed by the Adil Shahi Dynasty, who too accepted the suzerainty of the Mughals. The Adil Shahi Sultanate ruled majorly over the Bijapur district of the present day Karnataka, Bijapur was earlier a part of the Bahamani Kingdom, which had broken into five compa...

The Chief Architect Of India - Peshwa Madhavrao Bhatt- Pt 1

After the decisive Third Battle of Panipat much had changed in the political , historical and cultural fabric in the Indian History , the rise of regional powers like the Jats,Sikhs and several others was witnessed.  The sacrifice of Shrimant Sadashivrao Bhau and Vishwasrao on the battlefield made them legends, on the other hand Balaji Baji Rao aka Nana Saheb succumbed to the loss of a valiant brother and a righteous heir. In the midst of such a political crisis ,what was the Peshwai to do? Was this the end of the Vision of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj and great statesman Bajirao ?The countless sacrifices made by great generals and ministers of the Samrjy seemed to be in vain. The Peshwai was now in the hands of a widow , a greedy brother of the late Peshwa who waited patiently to capture the Gaddi and a young child-like muscular boy of 16, whose face shone like the Kohinoor ,whose grit was yet to be tested verily , by the lord, who mustered the courage to reorganize the disgrun...
